LIVING WITH CNM GOES LIVE

Hi All,
Sorry I have been silent for so long. I have been finalising and publishing my book, Living With CNM. It went live and available for purchase on the 1st of July 2020. Then a strange thing happened!
I naturally ordered 30 author copies so that I could distribute them to the libraries and sell them to my friends, but no luck. Amazon said they cannot ship to SA. No reason was given but I can only assume that it was due to the lockdown regulations imposed by the government. I have been reluctant to broadcast to the world at large that the book is available if my friends in SA cannot actually buy a copy. On first seeing the message I immediately contacted Amazon to find out why they could not ship. They reported back that they were aware of the problem, which is affecting a number of countries, and I must please be patient whilst they try to resolve the issue. Its now the 5th of July and I still cannot order author copies or even a single copy. I am going to launch the book tomorrow, Monday the 6th July. I am sure the rest of the world can order copies, even if us poor downtrodden South Africans cannot buy books or even cigarettes yet.
This disturbs me greatly, that our government can dictate that we cannot buy cigarettes. I don't smoke but I still find it offensive that they can impose their will on us to such an extent. They must know that their attempts are futile. Here in Toti you can buy cigarettes all over, people even post their telephone numbers on Facebook saying they can deliver cigarette, but the price is frightening. So all the government has achieved is to double the price of smokes. How clever is that? I even read that nicotine is an effective shield against the coronavirus and smokers are less likely to perish from the virus. Booze prices are also quite high now, but your order is at least delivered to your door.
